Lucozade Sport is the leader in safe sports nutrition. Their aim is to provide the very best in sports nutrition, advice and service and have developed a new range of sports nutrition products to satisfy the five key training needs - hydration, fuel, focus, recovery and strength
Advansys were asked to develop a highly customised ecommerce solution to allow Lucozade Sport to successfully expand their direct-to-consumer channel online. The ecommerce brief was to make sure the new ecommerce platform was intuative from a consumer perspective but more importantly was developed in a way to streamline internal processes; one of them being the creation of a pick, pack and dispatch module which allows the Lucozade Sport warehouse team to easily process all orders and then ship them via Parcel Force.
Due to the fact that the solution was highly customised and had tight timeframes, at the beginning of the project Advansys advised on how to map out the technical architecture of the entire solution By being thorough at the beginning of the project would prevent any unforeseen issues and make sure the project was successfully completed. Among other tailored functions, Advansys developed an affiliate URL module which gives Lucozade Sport the ability to create their own specific URLs allowing them to be used as part of a direct marketing or PPC campaign. Additionally, the administrator can add an image to the affiliate URL, such as a welcome banner for Liverpool FC to make it campaign specific for that personal touch.
Moreover, as bespoke web development specialists when creating the spec Advansys analysed the full order process from start to finish. In doing so we were able to find several flaws in the process resulting in unnecessary costings, time and resource. Consequently, with the development of the pick, pack and dispatch warehouse module Advansys have helped to significantly cut down the time it takes to process an order for the warehouse team. The warehouse team now have the ability to quickly and simply book stock in and out, deal with product recalls and returns, and by the click of a button create a text file that can be imported into Parcel Force's WDM portal for address label printing and shipping.
In addition, as part of the ecommerce solutions Lucozade Sport wanted to reward returning customers who frequently bought products from the website. As a result, Advansys developed a loyalty scheme component based on a points criteria. For every pound the end user spent on the website they would be given one point. Once the User had reached 100 points the application would automatically email them with a personalised 10 pound gift voucher that could be used on their next order. This is a great way to encourage online users to always come back and order on your website resulting in an increase in sales and revenue.
The final bespoke ecommerce solution has been an overwhelming success from a revenue generating perspective and will no doubt expand in the future as their business needs change.
