who is the client?

Prometric Ltd are the company behind the test preparation for many industrial qualifications and public testing. They are a multinational concern with this website being designed to serve candidates for the Republic of Ireland Driver Theory Test.

what is the project brief?

The website required for Prometric was to be small and robust. With only 6 products there were to be no complications and intricacies to complicate the process of obtaining study materials for either candidates or commercial buyers.
The back of the site had to incorporate a MOTO Module capable of handling all telephone sales of test materials.

project evolution

As with all projects the brief was only the beginning. During web development many aspects of the project had to be firmed up and approved.

The design of the site had to fit with the current style of the DTT booking pages that were already in existence, to make the experience of booking a test and then purchasing test preparation materials seamless. In addition to this limiting factor our ecommerce design had to be clear and straightforward to make the purchasing process as efficient as possible.

Decisions also had to be made regarding the operation of the site, initial discussions originally indicated that the site would work on a 'Guest Checkout' basis, meaning that candidates would not need to login to purchase materials. Later in the project Advansys were asked to provide registration and login facilities to allow commercial customers (Driving Instructors and Bookshops) to repeat purchases using the same details as well as to provide a more robust system of account management for candidates.

our final solution

The DTT ecommerce website is a great example of a robust CMS design being built in conjunction with a fluid and streamlined front end to create a site that can handle large amounts of traffic as well as providing all the feedback required of a corporate marketing department.

Advansys will be working closely with Prometric to keep ahead of any changing requirements to the site and also to provide updates and new functionality to provide a further enhanced candidate experience.
