who is the client?

Party Showroom is the online face of a well established family business that grew out of the printing of custom designs on balloons. From these beginnings PartyShowroom.co.uk opened to supplement custom balloon sales with Party related products and gifts; beginning with a still active eBay store before the website proper was launched.

The new website has come in conjunction with an expanded product range and ordering abilities that will make PartyShowroom a genuinely cross-channel international eCommerce website with enourmous potential for future company growth.

what is the project brief?

The new site was intended to give functionality that was not possible with the client’s old ecommerce platform. This functionality was designed to allow for incentive deals, as well as giving the client the ability to market products to European and American Markets with support for Euro and Dollar Transactions.

The Client runs the business as both an online and offline entity so it made sense for their new solution to integrate the necessary capabilities to streamline ordering via the web and phone orders, thus a MOTO module was required, allowing telephone orders to be entered into the system directly and fulfilled in the same process as web orders.

The Cross Channel Nature of the system is further evident in the requirement that the client be able to market on two separate eBay stores, something that few eCommerce platforms on the market allow through a single interface.

project evolution

With such a strong brief the project for Party Showroom could proceed very directly. As with all site redesigns it was important to ensure that the data was transferred from the old solution to the new site smoothly.

Part of the project involved developing a new logo for the company, a new logo which would need to represent the company on all forms of media, both digital and web. The new design makes a strong reference to the company’s origins in custom balloon printing and is almost classic in its graphical style, ensuring that it will age well with Party Showroom.

our final solution

The final design of the Party Showroom website is a combination of very bright and dynamic graphics wwith a strong layout ensuring that the colourful imagery does not overwhelm visitors. The Controls for changing the currency are easily found and Party Showroom’s well thought out categories make navigating through the catalogue simplicity itself.

The Advansys eCommerce Framework perfectly complements the requirements of a modern company with cross channel selling abilities, the eBay integration module allowing the client to list their products onto two separate eBay Stores through a single interface. Not only can products be listed in bulk or ad hoc, but orders from the eBay Stores are pulled down to the ecommerce orders list, allowing orders from the multiple channels, Ecommerce, eBay and MOTO, to be processed at the same time and with the same level of customer service.

Promo Code and bundle deal modules allow the client to set up great customer offers and incentives to ensure that sales should grow and their customer base will also expand, especially considering the multi-currency modules, which enable on the fly currency conversion, opens the market to both European and American customers.

Advansys are continuing to work with Party Showroom, to ensure that their product data is perfectly optimised for Search Engines and we look forward to making further updates to the website, to bring in new functionality and channels. The Advansys eCommerce Framework is perfectly scalable so this is a strong possibility for the future.
